New movie: Shovel Buddies

Some days ago it was announced that Bella has landed a role in a new movie (that she’s currently filming), AwesomenessTV’s Shovel Buddies. Below is an article from Tubefilter announcing the casting. And the official storyline from IMDB is the following:
– A group of friends attempt to successfully complete a list of tasks assigned to them as the “Shovel List” by their dead friend.

Among other projects, the multi-channel network and digital media studio’s upcoming feature film pipeline includes a coming-of-age story called Shovel Buddies, which was revealed in March. Two months later, Shovel Buddies now has a principal cast: AwesomenessTV announced that Kian Lawley, Bella Thorne, and Alex Neustaedter will portray the film’s three main characters.

Lawley, Thorne, and Neustaedter will star as three friends of Sammy, a teenager who dies of leukemia. After finding a note from Sammy specifying how he would like to be buried, the three teens set off on an adventure to grant their friend’s last wish. The film’s screenplay, written by Jason Hellerman, appeared on the 2013 edition of the Black List, which notes the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

Interview: How Bella Got Mistaken for a Guy

Sweet new interview with Bella discussing her upcoming movie Blended, and how she was mistaken for a guy off the set! Check it out!

In the new movie “Blended,” Bella Thorne plays Adam Sandler’s track-suit-wearing tomboy daughter Hillary, aka “Larry.” The transformation from girlie girl was so convincing that Bella was actually mistaken for a guy off the set.

“I went to the restroom, and the guy’s like, ‘I’m sorry, you can’t go in there. The men’s room is that way.'” Bella says she immediately got “this devastated look on my face.”

Bella, 16, takes the reactions in stride and says she doesn’t feel pressure growing up in the public eye. “If people are talking about me, it doesn’t stress me out,” Bella says. “I know who I am. I’m not trying to be anything else.”

The actress, who’s also known for her role on Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up,” is aware of how young her fan base is, and she has special advice for the tweens who look up to her. “Women and girls need to stick together and stick up for each other,” she says.

Meanwhile, Phears is still desperate to get his hands on Nicky and Tara, and to pressure Max into turning them over, Phears brings a Berserker Ghoul to inhabit Max’s body—and make Max go berserk when he least expects it! But Max, Nicky, and Tara aren’t giving in to Phears. They have a few tricks up their sleeve—like one very talkative ghost cat, who’s taken residence inside the tunnel to the ghost world. . . .

Disney Channel sensation Bella Thorne is set to star in the new “Amityville” horror movie for Dimension Films and Blumhouse Productions, multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

Franck Khalfoun (“Maniac”) will direct the fright flick, which according to Bloody Disgusting, will also star Jennifer Jason Leigh. Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala co-wrote the script and are expected to produce with Jason Blum of hit factory Blumhouse.

Leigh will play a single mother who moves her three kids into the “Amityville” house, which of course has a very dark history.

Dimension had planned on reigniting the popular horror franchise using a found-footage angle but that idea has been dropped, as the format appears to have fallen out of favor with discerning genre fans. “Amityville” remains scheduled for release on Jan. 2, 2015.

The original “Amityville Horror” was released in 1979 and received a high-profile remake in 2005 that starred Ryan Reynolds and Chloe Moretz. The franchise is based on Jay Anson’s book “The Amityville Horror: A True Story.”

Thorne, who starred on the hit Disney Channel series “Shake It Up!,” will soon be seen in Voltage Pictures’ thriller “Home Invasion.” She also co-stars in the Disney movie “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” as well as the Adam Sandler comedy “Blended.” She’s repped by WME, LBI Entertainment and attorney Howard Fishman.
